Raymond “Bud” Miller was born January 26, 1934 to Harry and Ethel “Edwards” Miller. He grew up in Brighton, IA graduating with the Brighton High School Class of 1952. Shortly after graduation, Bud was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Rosella Downey. The two were married at the Fairfield Methodist Chapel in Fairfield, IA. Not long after they were married Bud joined the United States Air Force where he served proudly until his Honorable Discharge in November of 1961. Upon returning from the service he applied for a position with the Fairfield Police Department. He was hired, beginning a 20-year career in law enforcement. During this time, he served twice as the Fairfield Police Chief. Just as he had proudly served his country, he also proudly served his community. After his retirement from the force he took time to step back and enjoy fishing, playing pool, and taking cruises with Rosella. Bud was not only dedicated to his country and his community, but also his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lisa Palmer; and two siblings, Betty Standley, and Burdette Miller.

Left to honor his memory is his loving wife, Rosella Miller of Fairfield, IA; three children, LuAnn Celotti of Fairfield, IA, Doug (Cheryl) Miller of Fairfield, IA, and David (Kris) Miller of Fairfield, IA; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, as well as many extended family, friends, and his loving dog, Lexi.
