Repairs made to broken Libertyville water main

Apr 26, 2013

LIBERTYVILLE – The city of Libertyville announced in a press release today repairs have been made that would assure all water customers in the city have water.

Libertyville water customers are receiving water from the city of Fairfield. A temporary line has been placed across the Cedar Creek Bridge. The city of Libertyville is seeking to install a permanent line between the town and Fairfield.

A boil order is in place at this time and will remain in effect until further notice.

Water should be boiled for one minute before drinking, washing dishes, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, making ice and washing hands. Water will not need to be boiled before showering, bathing or doing laundry.

FYI:  The City of Libertyville does not get their water from Cedar Creek.  The water is purchased from the City of Fairfield through underground piping from Fairfield.  The pipe runs under Cedar Creek and this is where the break has occurred.  This was an incorrect story twice in the Ledger.  Please correct!!!
