RICHLAND — The Richland Public Library will kick off its summer reading program from 3-4 p.m. June 4 at the library.

The kick-off will include registration, games, arts and crafts, stories and a snack.

The kick-off event is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Preschool children can attend if accompanied by an adult caregiver.

The summer reading program will meet from 3-4:45 p.m. each Tuesday through July 23, with special guests, such as the Sac & Fox Lapidary Club, the Iowa State University Insect Zoo and others for stories, games, crafts and a snack.

The “End of the Summer Party” is set from 4:30-5:30 p.m. July 30, with snacks, games, prizes, stories and more. It is the last day participants can turn in reading logs and spend their “library dollars.”

Check The Ledger each week for the upcoming programs.
