A robbery was reported Friday morning at Everybody's in Fairfield, and the suspect was apprehended later that day.

At approximately 9:50 a.m., a robbery in progress was reported at Everybody’s according to a news release from the Jefferson County Attorney. The reporting party stated that an adult male wearing a long sleeve green T-shirt, red pants and military style cap held a knife to an employee and demanded money. The caller stated that the suspect ran out of the building to the west toward BP Amoco, and was observed looking into a vehicle.

The caller then stated that the suspect was attempting to re-enter the store, but was locked out. Fairfield Police arrived on the scene and arrested David Lawrence Dannemann (33) of Fairfield. Dannemann was arrested on the charge of first degree robbery. This is a class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.

Jefferson County Attorney Tim Dille said he is not aware of any injuries stemming from the case, and he believes that Dannemann was not given any money when he asked for it. His bond was set at $25,000 cash only.

The Fairfield Police Department said in a news release it would like to thank the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office for their assistance with this investigation and arrest.

A charge is merely an accusation. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
