Robert Lee Burnett 61, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. According to his wishes, the body has been cremated.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Cards and memorials can be sent to 515 21st St., Oskaloosa 52577.

Mr. Burnett was born Jan. 2, 1952, the son of Herbert and Dorothy Jean Scott Burnett. He married Ann Porter Oct. 18, 1970, in Fairfield.

He had lived in Oskaloosa the last 15 years, and previously lived in the Batavia, Fairfield and Libertyville area.

He was Area Materials Coordinator for Iowa Department of Transportation - District 5 Materials.

He previously worked for Douds Stone Inc. in Ottumwa.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oskaloosa and was an active member with the Knights of Columbus.

He was affiliated with Fairfield Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Burnett of Oskaloosa; two children, Michael Lee Burnett and spouse Shelly of Fairfield, and Michelle Blomme and spouse Michael of Newton; six grandchildren; one sister, Marcia Snead of Batavia; one brother, Steve Burnett of Libertyville; and his father, Herbert Burnett.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
