Senate right to pass abortion ban

By Mary LaFrancis | Apr 20, 2017

To the editor:

Iowa bill Senate File 471 just passed in the Iowa Senate “banning most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, requiring a 72 -hour waiting period, ultrasound, offer the mother to listen to her baby’s heartbeat, given a description of her developing baby, and ‘counseling.’”

Rightfully so and much more!

Rep. Steven Holt, R-Denison says “The basic right to life (belongs) to every single human being, unborn lives matter, this legislation matters.”

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, speaking as a “woman’s health care organization fighting for women’s rights to make their own heath care decisions” argues that this bill puts an “undue burden on women,” requires “biased counseling that lacks scientific foundation and shames a woman making a deeply personal, private, safe, and legal health decision.”

Nothing can be further from the truth!

Planned Parenthood, founded by Margaret Sanger in the early 1900s, was racist and eugenic and to this day targets those its mega mills strategically located near schools, campuses, low-income and minority neighborhoods.

They receive over half a billion in federal funds yearly which must stop, and the monies be reallocated to legitimate comprehensive community healthcare clinics that far outnumber Planned Parenthood.

Abortion is not “health care” but harms the mother and kills her innocent child. God only is the Giver and Taker of life, not for our “choice” and convenience!

Abortion is not “safe. legal and rare” as claimed. Roe v. Wade and its companion Doe v. Bolton were crafted, fabricated and passed in 1973 allowing abortion for any reason until and even during birth and would never pass today in light of growing scientific knowledge! These tragic laws must be overturned.

Abortion leaves a lifetime of deep wounds and regret. Crisis pregnancy centers give love, support and hope to mother and child. Chose life, our most precious human resource, our future generations!
