Senior center plans meals

Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its congregate meals menu for the coming week.

Monday — ham and beans, Tomato Spoon Salad, cornbread, orange wedges, oatmeal-raisin cookie.

Tuesday — beef tips in gravy, sour cream mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, tropical fruit, pumpkin bar.

Wednesday — spaghetti and meat sauce, mixed green salad with dressing, banana, assorted yogurt.

Thursday — roast turkey, mashed potatoes, poultry gravy, broccoli cuts, peach-raisin sauce.

Oct. 13 — potato-crusted fish fillet, baked potato with sour cream, lima beans, strawberries.

Each meal includes wheat dinner roll or bread, unless another bread item is noted, margarine and skim milk.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center, and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge Senior Center.

Reservations for meals must be made one day in advance. Reservations at the Fairfield site can be made at the senior center or by calling 472-4403. For reservations at the Lockridge site, call 319-696-2086.

For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.

Check at the meal sites for meal options, such as shelf-stable meals or frozen meals, to use on days when no meal is served at the center.

Bingo is scheduled to be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield site.
