Serve Outdoors banquet set

Jan 14, 2013

Serve Outdoors will have its annual fundraising banquet at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Roberts Memorial Center in Keosauqua.

No membership fee is required. A free-will donation will be collected.

A meal will be served, followed by games, stories and a benefit auction.

Organizer Matt Johnson said the auction will include “a generator, household goods, two or three guns, a big variety of stuff.”

During last year’s auction, the pies brought some of the largest dollar amounts, Johnson added.

The proceeds from the banquet, the auction and monetary donations help Serve Outdoors continue meeting its mission to help the disabled, youth, elders and veterans enjoy outdoor recreation.

Anyone who would like to donate items for the auction can call Johnson at 919-4211. The items would be needed by Friday.

Tax-deductible donations can be mailed to Serve Outdoors, 22350 Smith St., Keosauqua 52565.

Serve Outdoor organizers said people also can get involved with the group by guiding a hunt, helping on a fishing day, providing land to hunt or fish, helping with food or serving on the committee.

Call Johnson or John Hamstreet at 319-288-0814 for information.
