Shame on rummage thieves

By Lynda Ann Yochum | May 01, 2014

To the editor:

My grandson receives nice things for his age, the same as his two older sisters did. He also makes money working, such as loading hay, etc., at the Van Buren Sale Barn on Saturdays.

Now that he is playing baseball every weekend, I put some of his and his sisters’ old ball equipment in my rummage sale Saturday during Batavia’s citywide rummage sale, for him to earn money for baseball away games.

It’s hard to teach a 9-year-old to share, to work for his money and be good to people.

You took his best baseball bag from my rummage sale on Saturday.

You two young men know who you are. I hope you’re proud of this act, so if you face him someday, this was his extra money for T-shirts, etc., for his trips away.
