Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 7:28 a.m. Saturday about vandalism, destruction of property in Eldon.

Sheriff deputies responded to an accident at 12:07 a.m. Saturday four miles south of Fairfield on Highway 1. Mercedes Allison Counts, 21, of Farmington, was driving a 2008 Pontiac G5 south on Highway 1 when she ran off the right side of the road, the front end of the car dug into the ditch causing the car to overturn and land on its roof. The car had an estimated $6,000 in damages. Counts was cited for failure to maintain control.

Sheriff’s deputies received a report about an attempted burglary sometime between 5-5:08 p.m. at Overland Sheepskin Co. Damage to a window is estimated at $700.
