The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports the following incidents:



1:48 p.m. – A single-vehicle no-injury accident occurred on 155th Street near Ironwood Avenue. Nicholas Brown, 19, attempted to make a turn, too late, and he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle rolled once and came to a rest on its wheels inside of a ditch on the northwest side of 155th Street. Brown was cited for failure to maintain control.


11:45 p.m. – A single-vehicle, no-injury rollover accident occurred in the westbound lane on Highway 34. Kaitlyn Burton, 21, of Ottumwa was traveling west on Highway 34 when she had an issue with her vehicle’s steering wheel. She lost control of the vehicle, and slid across the median and the eastbound lane into the embankment on the south side of the highway. The vehicle rolled once and came to a rest on its wheels. Burton was wearing a seatbelt.



4:02 a.m. – Regan Linn Channel, 39, of Kirksville, Missouri, was arrested in Fairfield on a warrant and for operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent.



1:47 a.m. – A citizen advised of a theft that occurred in Brighton. Stolen items include: a 2016 Cub Cadet CX700 4X4 utility vehicle, and two chainsaws.
