Smith joins First National Bank in Fairfield, appointed to board of directors

Following the recent retirement of Pat Hurley, the board of directors of First National Bank in Fairfield elected Mark Smith as president and CEO of First National Bank in Fairfield.

Smith also has been appointed to the board of directors of the bank.

Smith has 35 years of experience in the community banking including 22 years as president and CEO of First Missouri Bank in Brookfield, Missouri, from 1992-2014.

A native Iowan, Smith graduated from Iowa State University in 1980 with a degree in animal science. During his banking career, he has held the positions of agricultural loan officer, vice president of lending, vice president and cashier, and president and CEO of community banks in Iowa and Missouri.

Smith and his wife, Becky, have relocated to Fairfield. Becky Smith is a Kirksville, Missouri, native. The couple has three grown children and four grandchildren.

The Smiths are partners in a family commercial cattle operation near Lincoln, Missouri.
