Solo vocalists, ensembles, to benefit Sondheim center

Oct 31, 2017

“Sing Your Heart Out,” with more than 50 vocalists from the Fairfield area, will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center’s Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.

All proceeds from the concert benefit the convention center and the Sondheim center.

The long list of singers includes the 30-member Everybody Sings choir directed by Carol Negro, Prairie Harmony Shape Note Singers, Emily Roth, Steve and Michaela McLain, Tim Britton, Frank Cenatori, Keith DeBoer, Jeffrey Hedquist, Jonas Magram, Ulrike Selleck, Torie Hollingsworth, Emily Cantafio Poole, Amine Kouider, Paulina E., Allison Metcalf and many more.

“Sing Your Heart Out” is produced by Werner Elmker. An accomplished photographer and videographer, Elmker holds a doctoral level degree in piano performance from the Royal Danish Music Conservatory. He has performed many benefit concerts for the Sondheim and considers Fairfield lucky to have a beautiful community facility and an amazing performance space.

“The Sondheim has given many local artists opportunities and has provided a variety of excellent performances for more than 10 years,” said Elmker. “There are a handful of people that work extremely hard to provide the experiences and opportunities that we have come accustomed to and these events don’t just happen. We need to continue to support our center and there is no better way to support our center by performing on the stage or going to the performances. This show has it all.”

General admission tickets are $12. For tickets or information, contact the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center ticket office at 472-2787 or www.fairfieldacc.com.
