SPORTS BRIEFS: volleyball and swimming

JV volleyball

The Fairfield JV volleyball team lost Tuesday to Mount Pleasant 24-26, 25-19, 6-15.

Delaney Neil led the team with four kills. Olivia Wallerich and Mikaela Amendt each had three kills.

Paige Palmer led the team in assists with five. Jolea Burkhardt had 10 digs. Mackenzie Flattery had eight digs of her own.

Molly Ryan had the team’s only block on the night.


Volleyball Tournaments

The Fairfield volleyball teams will travel to different places on Saturday.

The varsity team will travel to Oskaloosa for a tournament. It starts at 8:30 a.m.

The freshmen will travel to Mediapolis. The tournament starts at 9 a.m.

Fairfield, Mediapolis, Fort Madison, West Branch, Davis County and Holy Trinity will all take part in the freshmen tournament.



The Fairfield swimming team lost Tuesday to Keokuk by the total score of 106-53.

The 200-yard medley relay team, which consists of Baylee Bowman, Jada Lippincott, Brynna Bowman and Lauren Ward, finished second overall with the time of 2:16.95.

Baylee finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with the time of 59.33.
