Aug 11, 2017

Fairfield Community School District’s free summer lunch program for youth is continuing next week.

The menu for the week is:

Monday — pork tenderloin, celery sticks with dip, Awesome Sauce, milk.

Tuesday — beef fiestada, lettuce and tomato, dried fruit mix, milk.

Wednesday — deli wrap, carrot sticks, fresh fruit, milk.

Thursday — beef and cheese nachos, salsa, Sidekick, milk.

Aug. 18 — hot dog on a bun, French fries, fresh fruit, milk.

Visit the school district’s website at www.fairfieldsfuture.org to check on updates to the menu.

Any child through age 18 can have a free, healthy lunch; a child does not have to qualify for free lunches during the school year to eat the free summer lunches.

Adults over 18 can purchase a meal for $3.50, but children are served lunch first.

Lunch is served:

• 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 at Fairfield Middle School;

• 11:30 a.m. to noon in the Fairfield Public Library meeting room; and

• 12:15-12:45 p.m. in Roosevelt Community Recreation Center Room 3;

• The Howard Park meal site is closed at this time.

Children do not have to eat lunch at the same location each day.

The Fairfield school district’s free summer lunch program continues through Aug. 25.

The free local lunches are part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s nationwide Summer Food Service Program.

For information about the lunch program, call Fairfield school district food services director Stephanie Hawkins at 472-2655 Ext. 6703.
