Tenco fundraiser Wednesday

Aug 24, 2017

Tenco Dayhab will have a fundraising yard and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Tenco Industries building in Fairfield.

A freewill donation will be accepted for the items. Grilled hot dogs also will be available. All proceeds will benefit the day habilitation program.

The day habilitation program is designed to assist individuals interested in working on life skills, such as cleaning, cooking, socialization and community safety. The program also focuses on peer interaction and appropriate social skills, while promoting the individual’s independence.

Tenco is a nonprofit corporation founded in 1965, currently serving more than 250 people with disabilities. It operates vocational centers and offer day programs and residential services in Fairfield, Ottumwa, Keosauqua, Knoxville and Centerville. At Tenco, each day is dedicated to building opportunities for people with disabilities to work, learn life skills, and interact in the community.
