Curtis Smith, Jefferson County Health Center vice president of ancillary services, gives a tour of the health center to Ottumwa High School students in late February. The 41 OHS students who toured are enrolled in a child development course. Their instructor, Barb Elswick, wanted to expose her students to a variety of careers offered at JCHC. Smith and Jacque Bookin-Nosbich, vice president of clinical services, guided the tour and answered students’ questions. The students’ visit was part of the Work-based Learning Center at Indian Hills Community College and its coordinator Nathan Miller.
