Trojan cross-country runs in Mt. Pleasant

MT. PLEASANT — The Fairfield cross-country teams ran in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday evening. The boys’ team placed third with 66 points and the girls were fourth with 74 points.

The boys’ team was led by Mark Diers, who crossed the line in fifth place with a time of 17:58.34. Gannon Courtright gave the Trojans two runners in the top 10 with a 10th-place 18:34.24.

Darren Roberts placed 14th in 18:59.42. Alex Forrest placed 17th in 19:17.34. Dalton Rippey was 19th in 19:20.65. Bryan Wilkins was 23rd in 19:49.45 and Blake Holden placed 27th in 21:19.65.

The Trojan girls were led by Ashley Bloomquist, who finished third place in 20:10.8. Yana Gaskell was 26th in 24:06. Hailey Pohren-Gevock (24:39.5) and Malory Jones (25:07.8) were 31st and 32nd respectively. Destiny Gridley placed 45th in 25:59.5, and Devin Duke finished 80th in 40:53.0.

The Cardinal boys were also in action, finishing in the small-school boys’ standings with a 340. Jimmy Greer placed 61st in 23:18.08 to lead the team.

Gunner Zugg finished 66th in 24:02.27. Wyatt Gatton was 24:45.58. Zach Cox placed 76th in 25:51.84, and Griffen Sackman placed 80th in 26:51.89.
