The Trojans won all three sets by double digits.

The Trojans gave one of their most dominating performances yet on the volleyball court Tuesday night in the Fairfield High School gymnasium.

They hosted Keokuk, a team that had posted only one victory coming into the contest. Fairfield never let the Chiefs so much as sniff a set win, let alone the match. The Trojans won in straight sets by scores of 25-10, 25-7 and 25-15.

Kara Jeffrey went 14-16 in serves with one ace. Danae Drish was 10-10 with an ace. Jillian Dunlap was a perfect 11-11, too.

Jeffrey led the way in hitting, striking the ball cleanly onto the other side of the net all 13 times to go with nine kills. Alison Godwin went 12-13 with four kills. Kristen Daugherty added four kills, too. Alie Kensett, Grace Stever and Ashtyn Drish all had three kills, and Cami Schaefer contributed two.

Jeffrey led the team in assists with 10. Ashtyn Drish had nine.

Danae Drish was the leader in digs with 13. Jillian Dunlap posted nine, and Bryanna Popejoy had seven.

Godwin blocked three Keokuk spikes. Julia Fritz and Daugherty each blocked one.

Danae Drish was 9-9 in serve receive. Ashtyn Drish was 4-4.

Junior varsity

Fairfield’s junior varsity team was just as dominant over Keokuk as the varsity. The JV won the two-set match by scores of 25-14 and 25-8.

Gracee Lisk was 12-12 serving with two aces. Olivia Roberts went 11-13 with four aces. Allison Rebling went 6-6 with two aces.

Rachel Thomas went 8-8 in hitting with two kills. Chloe Stever was 7-7 with two kills. Carly Ferrel went 5-6 with two kills. Rebling went 5-8 with three kills.

Lily Hoskins led in assists with seven. Olivia Roberts had five.

Olivia McClaran had five digs. Lisk and Roberts each had three.

Stever had one block.

Freshman team

The freshman team participated in the Centerville Tournament Monday where it went 2-1. The Trojans defeated Seymour in two sets, 21-19 and 21-8, lost to Davis County in two sets 21-18 and 21-19, and defeated Centerville in two sets, both by scores of 21-14.

Olivia Jones went 20-23 in serving with nine aces. Sophie Wallerich was 24-28 with seven aces. Bailey Hird went 8-9 with one aces. Phoebe Fiedler was 11-11.

Jones was the top hitter, amassing eight kills. Abby Schaefer had six, and Erika Bochman had two.

Wallerich led in assists with 13. Bochman had one.

Thirteen was Wallerich’s lucky number, because that was also how many digs she had. Bochman had four. Fiedler had three, and Abby Schaefer had two. Schaefer also had a block.

Bochman went 7-9 in serve receive. Jones was 9-11.

Against Keokuk, the freshmen won their two sets 25-11 and 25-18.
