Players on the Farifield High School football team paid the residents of Parkview Care Center a visit Friday.

The players were looking for a chance to give back to their community, so a small carnival was concocted by Parkview Care Center Activities Director Erin Shriver.

She chose a carnival theme because the Iowa State Fair was taking place at the same time.

Games included a fishing pool activity, a penny toss, hitting ping pong balls into buckets and a dice game. The football players helped run the different games and interacted with the residents at the same time.

“The residents enjoyed seeing the players with their jerseys on,” Shriver said. “And the players enjoyed working with the residents.”
