Nov 04, 2016

ROBINS (AP) — Authorities say two people have been killed and three more injured in a chain-reaction crash in Linn County.

The crash occurred a little before 3:45 p.m. Thursday on the north side of Robins. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says a westbound pickup ran into the back of a car that was waiting to turn left. The impact knocked the car into the rear of a pickup that also was waiting to turn left.

The Sheriff’s Office says two people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene and three others were taken to a hospital in Iowa City. The Sheriff’s Office says the two pickup drivers, who were alone in their vehicles, were not injured.

The names of those involved have not been released. The crash is being investigated.
