UPDATE: First Fridays features open mic

Fairfield First Fridays, featuring an open mic night, will be 6:30-10 p.m. Friday in Central Park.

Live performances by community talent are planned in the Ron Prill Bandstand in Central Park. A section of the park will have lawn games for some friendly competition with family and friends. Food vendors, local artists, local businesses, nonprofits and more also will be set up in the park, and many business, restaurants, galleries and venues will be open on and near the square. Bring a lawn chairs and enjoy the evening.

Americus Gallery-100 W. Burlington Ave. Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Thursday 10 – 6, Friday 10 – 8 and Saturday 10 – 5   "Americus Gallery will be showing Christopher Kufner's original oil paintings, featuring Italian/French Landscapes, Figurative works and Large Format Photography on archival paper of the Tuscan Countryside.  Also, showing original oil paintings by Kim Kufner, New Original watercolor and ink paintings by Genevra Bell, Art Glass Vases by David Lotton and diochroic glass jewelry by Pedro Lujano."

Art FiftyTwo- 52 E. Briggs Ave. Rod Falk – Elements in Motion  Friday Artwalk 6:30-9:30  continuing Tuesday-Saturday 1:00 – 4:00 thru October 20

At Home- 52 N. Main St.-6:30-8:30- We will have Danish born Australian textile artist and natural dye expert Kirsten Ingemar at the store. Kirsten will be demonstrating the art of natural dye and leaf printing. There will be a dye pot going in the back garden, and a display of her work in the store. This will be a preview of the in depth workshop offered September 8 and 9.

Carnegie Historical Museum- 112 S. Court St, - museum open 6 - 9pm. New labels for EDWARD S. CURTIS photos, also new WW2 Navy Frogman display.  Misc. children's activities 5-7:30pm.  ''A HOUSE DIVIDED'': HAWKEYE / CYCLONE bean bag toss, football helmet activity, GIANT BUBBLES.  Stop in this fantastic museum to see the collections!

Chakra Steps- Open for Fairfield First Fridays

Crest Jewel-48 N. Main St. Crest Jewel will be open at 7PM with Fine Art by David Kupferman and Terrence Kennedy.  Fine Art Prints and Cards. Wearable art: Shibori dyed tees and silk ponchos by Michael Smith. Janu "Select" gemstone beads Designer Jewelry.

Fairfield Art Association (inside the FACC) - Silent Auction of "Squares around the Square" final bidding on September 7 from 6-8 PM in the FAA Studio - ENTER in SIDE DOOR ONLY. Pop Up Studio Show of David Pattison's recent works - same hours

Fairfield Ledger Building- 112E. Broadway Ave. Luke Stenger's debut photography show is a collection of images spanning several years that was almost exclusively shot on analog 35mm film. The show is located at the old Fairfield Ledger Building, just follow the signs and enter through the alley! There will be complimentary wine and cheese, as well as prints for sale. At 10pm there will be a special art show reception at the new and glorious Event Center Barn located at 1949 Pleasant Plain Rd (across from 2nd reservoir) to feature DJ sets by Coolzey and Peter Arnold. $10 at the door or free with art purchase.

ICON Gallery- 58 N. Main St. New Show Opening at ICON Gallery:  Visionary Dimensions. Unique exhibit by visionary artists Amarnath Mukta, Zachary Brown, Peter Clemens, Kathleen Deyo, Kim Johnson and Douglas Walker. First Friday Hours: 6:30 to 10:00
