Van Buren High School hosting blood drive

KEOSAUQUA — Van Buren High School will host a community blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 3 in its gym.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Sept. 8 are eligible to give at this drive.

For appointments to donate, contact Kathleen Humble or a student council member or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5286 to locate the drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with a parental permission form can donate; forms are available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds and have a photo I.D. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. For questions about eligibility, call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 800-747-5401.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Van Buren County Hospital.
