Van Buren hospital auxiliary plans soup supper Jan. 18

KEOSAUQUA — The Van Buren County Hospital Auxiliary will have a soup supper from 5-7:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Roberts Memorial Center to raise funds for its scholarship program.

The menu will include chili, vegetable beef and potato soups.

A freewill offering will be collected.

Since 1991, the auxiliary has awarded 51 scholarships totaling $23,958.

In addition to presenting scholarships, the auxiliary has purchased equipment for the hospital. The members also volunteer at the hospital by working at the front desk, rocking babies in the day care center and more.

The auxiliary has 36 members, and new members are welcome. Yearly dues are $10; a lifetime membership is $50.

The group’s regular meetings are scheduled at 9 a.m. the first Monday of each month in the Van Buren County Hospital’s sunroom. The officers are: co-chairwomen Judy Manning and Marsha Appleman; secretary Kathy Manning; and treasurer Jeannie Erickson.
