Van Buren treasurer’s office hours set

Aug 12, 2014

KEOSAUQUA — Due to a critical shortage of staffing in the Van Buren County Treasurer’s office, the board of supervisors of Van Buren County have approved the following temporary measures that will become effective Monday and continue until further notice.

The treasurer’s office will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, except holidays, and closed during the noon hour from noon to 1 p.m. each of those days.

The office will be closed to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

All services of the treasurer’s office will be offered on the days it is open to the public with the exception of drivers licensing.

Property tax payments and motor vehicle renewals are available to be paid on line or by mail, as usual.

Three former Van Buren County Treasurer employees have agreed to return to the office on a limited basis: former county treasurer Becky Fry, Debbie Greenfield and, pending council approval, Paige Novak.
