After losing at Farifield 54-48 Monday night, Van Buren went home to Keosauqua and showed SEISC foe WACO why the Warriors are one of the toughest teams in Class 2A with a 60-39 victory.

Head Coach Matt Zietler’s team held quarter leads of 15-11, 27-19, 39-28 and then outscored their visitors 21-11 in the fourth quarter to pull away even further.

Taryn Scheuermann had 23 points on 9-12 shooting from the field, including 3-3 from behind the arc. Freshman Isabel Manning had eight points, but the other 29 points were spread fairly equally among the other six Trojans to make a bucket.

Zietler’s team will now travel to West Burlington on Friday for another SEISC matchup versus the 10-7 home Falcons.
