Wetrich, Walker married in September ceremony

Megan Marie Wetrich and Robert Alan Walker were married Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Camp Dodge in Johnston, with the Honorable Judge Sarah Rothman, friend of the bride and groom, officiating

The bride is the daughter of Tom and Julie Wetrich of Fairfield. The groom is the son of Jeff and Sherrie Wetherell of Stockport and Steve and Wendy Walker of Jacksonville, Fla.

The bride wore a gown of sheer Venice lace with a Sabrina neckline accenting a sweetheart neckline. The gown had a pleated, regal satin cummerbund at the waist, with a textured lace trumpet skirt and chapel-length train. Ivory buttons covered the zipper in the back. She wore an ivory broach flower in her hair and carried a handmade bouquet of fabric flowers, tulle and broaches.

Melissa Stork, matron of honor and sister of the bride, wore a latte champagne silk taffeta knee-length dress and carried an ivory rose bouquet.

Mandy Mellum and Michaele Hellmich were bridesmaids. They wore ivory champagne silk taffeta, knee-length dresses and carried ivory rose bouquets.

The groom wore his Army dress blues.

David Poncelow, Scott Waltzing and Adam Struve were groomsmen. They wore navy tuxes, with matching champagne ties and ivory rose boutonnieres.

Bellami Weitrich, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a champagne, satin dress and carried a matching satin basket of flower petals.

Crew Wetrich, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Marc Wetrich, brother of the bride, and Jim Morris, brother-in-law of the groom, served as ushers.

Following the ceremony, the guests went to the Pool Pavilion Reception Hall at Fort Dodge for a dinner served by Hickory Park. The groom’s stepfather, Jeff Wetherell, provided music entertainment for the dance following dinner.

The bride and groom are both 2006 graduates of Fairfield High School. The bride graduated from Naperville Skin Institute in 2008 with a license in aesthetics and from Guiding Light School of Massage Therapy in 2009 with a license in massage therapy. She currently works in Ankeny as a massage therapist.

The groom is finishing the paramedic program at Mercy in Des Moines, and works at Camp Dodge for the Iowa National Guard.

The couple resides in Altoona.
