‘When the Lights Go Out’ Sunday at Fairfield library

Oct 25, 2017

The Fairfield Public Library will host its seventh annual “When the Lights Go Out” program from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

“What happens in the library at night when the librarians go home and the lights go out?” asked Afton Hallauer, youth services librarian. “Storybook characters come to life! Come see for yourself, and enjoy this literary Halloween event.”

All ages are welcome to the free program, and participants are encouraged to come in costume.

Visitors will be guided through the darkened library in small groups, meeting familiar characters from favorite books along the way.

Tours are first-come, first-serve and will depart every 10 minutes from the library meeting room.

Visitors can enjoy free crafts, games and snacks while waiting for their group’s tour.

To find out more about the “When the Lights Go Out” program, contact the library at 472-6551.
