Wyman R. Webb

Wyman R. Webb, 72, of rural Agency, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at home.

A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Jena Manchester officiating. Inurnment of cremains will be in the Batavia Cemetery.

The family will be present one hour prior to the service Friday for visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Wapello and Davis Counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa 52501.

Mr. Webb was born Sept. 2, 1941, in Batavia, the son of Russell R. and Sarah R. Griggs Webb. He married Nancy McMullin Dec. 19, 1965.

He graduated from Cardinal High School Batavia Center in 1959.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965.

A graduate of Iowa Tech’s computer program, he worked for John Morrell & Co. until 1973.

He was employed by John Deere Ottumwa Works in the data systems department for 23 years, retiring in 1997.

He was a member of the Agency Lions, the Chief Wapello Park Association and Pheasants Forever.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; one daughter, Jody Marlay of Crystal Lake, Illinois; one son, Brian R. Webb of Batavia; one brother, James Webb of Anoka, Minnesota; and two sisters, Betty Durflinger of Green Top, Missouri, and Patti Whitham of Madrid.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joanne Glotfelty.
