Youth Field Day planned May 18

OTTUMWA — Izaak Walton will hold its eighth annual Youth Field Day from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 18 at the Izaak Walton League in Ottumwa.

The event is a way to introduce 8- to 18-year-old youth to the many outdoor wonders each season brings.

Parents can stay with their children if they wish. It is an all-day event. Lunch will be provided.

Youth Field Day is a collaboration of many local groups: Ducks Unlimited, Friends of the NRA, National Trappers Association, National Wild Turkey Federation, Wapello County Soil and Water Conservation District, Ottumwa Chapter Izaak Walton League, Pheasants Forever, Wapello County Conservation, Wapello Chief Bowman’s, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Iowa Bowman’s Association and Bow Fishing Association of Iowa.

If registration is received by Friday, the participate will receive a free T-shirt.
